| A 19-year-old Rumanian youth died this morning in an explosion at a new car storage centre in Ledanca (Guadalajara) that also left a 31-year-old security guard gravely injured.
The explosion appears to have occurred near the facility's diesel fuel pump, and caused a fire that totally destroyed around fifty vehicles - mostly vans - and damaged around twenty others.
It seems that the teenager that died was friends with, and had been accompanying, the injured security guard, who is also Rumanian.
He was taken to Getafe Hospital, and is reported to have sustained burns to 90% of his body.
The depot is located on the A-2 Madrid-Barcelona freeway (km 95), very close to a service station, which, owing to the timely intervention of the emergency services, was not affected by the blaze, which was extinguished by 4.30am. |
