Two men - father and son - were injured yesterday morning when members of a rival Gypsy clan opened fire on them at their home on the calle San Justo in the notorious La Milagrosa district of Albacete.

The incident occurred at around 11am shortly after shots were fired at an address in the nearby calle San Esteban.

Three men - aged 36, 32 and 31 - were arrested at the calle San Justo property almost immediately following the shootings - they were holed up inside armed with hunting rifles and handguns.

A fourth man (27) was arrested several hours later.

The custody of a young child appears to have sparked the violence and police cordons have been set up both outside Albacete University Hospital, where the injured men are being treated, and in and around the La Milagrosa district.
