The work being carried out on the tracks of the AVE high speed train between Madrid and Valencia have been stopped on the stretch between Naharros and Torrejoncillo in Cuenca province as the workers have not received their pay from the government for four months.

Their union representative has stated that work will not be restarted until assurances are received that pay will be forthcoming.

The measure affects about ten companies that have been subcontracted for the project.
