| A builder and two of his employees have been camping in a developer’s doorway since Tuesday in a bid to recover the 135,000 euros he owes them.
Julio Rodríguez from Villafranca de los Caballeros (Toledo province) had carried out various building works for the debtor, who claims he does not have the money to pay for them.
For five nights, the three constructors have been sleeping in their van in the doorway of the developer’s brand-new villa in Méntrida.
Julio, who is facing bankruptcy as a result of the developer’s debt, may have to put his own house up for auction.
“How has he managed to build himself a villa like this, and at the same time, hasn’t had the money since June to pay for the work we’ve done on it?” demands Julio.
The builder says he and his staff are prepared to continue with their ‘sleeping protest’ until they receive their money. |
