| THE world’s largest cheese has been presented at a fair in Galicia.
Weighing a thousand kilos, measuring 1.8 metres in diameter and 45 centimetres thick, the cheese was made with 8,200 litres of milk, 76 kilos of salt and 1.6 litres of curd.
It is on display this week at the Festo de Queixo in Arzúa (A Coruña) and can be tasted from 13.00hrs onwards tomorrow.
Organisers expect to get around 15,000 portions out of it.
The cheese has spent the last six months in the local cooperative La Arzuana maturing.
