The name Ribeira Sacra means “sacred riverbanks, derived from the many churches and monasteries on these river banks, founded by religious orders in the middle ages. The region is famous for its excellent wines and numerous churches and monasteries in Romanesque style. The nearest main village with amenities and services is Ferreira de Panton, at 8 km.
