Mobile App lets women see baby scans in full HD
27/06/2015
A START-UP company in Córdoba has designed an App allowing pregnant women to see their scans live and in full HD on the mobiles or computers, and send them to their friends and family.
The firm, Ideax, says this is the first time ultrasound scans have ever been linked to SmartPhone technology, but that it is not difficult to use: the obstetrician or gynaecologist only has to press a button and the moving picture is sent straight to the mother's mobile.
It can also be connected to a tablet and be viewed in 3D and 4D, and can be shared to Facebook and Twitter so the whole family and the mother's friends can see static or moving images of the baby in the womb.
The programme, dubbed ClinicsApp, can be downloaded free of charge for Android, Google Play,iOS and Apple Store and consists of a simple interface via which the patient's medical history can be monitored without her having to go to hospital in person.
Transmission to a Smart device is instant and does not require pen-drives, cables, CDs or DVDs.
The creator, Javier Tobío, is a former software developer for Microsoft and HP Compact and has been working on the App for two years.
