A HIGH-SPEED long-distance train from Madrid to Sevilla was grounded for over an hour this morning (Wednesday) due to an electrical fault.
The AVE line was stuck between the stations of Adamuz and Alcolea del Río, both in the province of Córdoba, from around 10.40 when the overhead cables lost voltage.
Passengers were stuck on the train for around an hour until it was shifted onto another track and able to continue its onward journey.
Two AVE lines between Madrid and Sevilla, one in each direction, as wall as the Altaria line from Madrid to Algeciras (Cádiz province) and the ALVIA from Cádiz to Madrid were delayed.
Line 1, where the breakdown occurred, was not expected to be open until early afternoon.
