Mossos officer guarding arrested man kills himself in hospital bathroom
A POLICE officer guarding an offender who was in hospital shot himself in the toilets on Christmas Day afternoon.
The Mossos d'Esquadra agent was standing on duty over an arrested man at Bellvitge Hospital (pictured) in the town of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona province) when nurses suddenly heard the sound of gunfire.
They found the officer, whose name has not been revealed, dead in the toilets, having killed himself with his police pistol.
