Jet2 offers 900 new jobs in Spain, with 150 at Alicante-Elche airport
15/09/2018
LOW-COST airline Jet2 and its tied tour operator Jet2Holidays has advertised 150 new jobs at its base in Alicante-Elche airport.
After what the company calls a 'spectacular' summer, managing director Steve Heapy says the recruitment drive is the 'biggest campaign yet' on the Costa Blanca and shows the airline's 'commitment to investing in customers and development of the team'.
“The key to our growth is in the dedication and hard work of our colleagues and we are very much looking forward to welcoming more than 150 new people who will be joining our team in the region,” Heapy says.
Staff are needed in Operations, in the ground staff team and for the resort-flight-check in service, which allows customers to check in for their flight from their hotel without having to queue up at the desk in the terminal.
Up to 900 new jobs are set to be offered this year by Jet2Holidays and Jet2 across Spain, beginning with Alicante, and totalling about 3,000 Europe-wide, details of which are posted on Jet2careers.com.
The airline has seven bases in England, mostly in the midlands and north - Leeds-Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Birmingham and East Midlands – plus London-Stansted in the east, another in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and two in Scotland, in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
It operates flights from these airport to another 14 destinations in Spain in addition to Alicante-Elche.
On the mainland, Jet2 flights travel to Barcelona, Almería, Málaga, Murcia, Reus (Tarragona province), Girona, and Lleida in western Catalunya.
It also operates routes to the Balearic Islands – Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, and Mahón (Menorca) – and to the Canary Islands, to Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife South.
Jet2Holidays is the UK's second-largest tour operator, offering flight and accommodation packages in hotels of between two and five stars.
On the Costa Blanca, Jet2 works closely with a number of well-known hotel chains, including the national network ServiGroup.
